Jus want ya opinions. Jus bought a 4 door type r for a good price. Its a 99 spec 4 door so has full recaros, HID LIghts, B18C5 motor plus S80 LSD gearbox. Its silver and has limited edition 16" black enkei wheels which only a few left the factory with. There's only 2 99 spec one in nz at the moment. Tyres are bridgestone potenza RE01s. Also comes with airbags, bigger brakes, recaros on front n back... Interior is basic as to save weight... Post ya opinions.

Yeah i bought it. I bought it coz it was really cheap. It was for $19000. Because it has been in the yard since 2004, they flicked it off at 13999. Then got a discount to $NZ13300. I thought id buy it too coz theyre not many round. Was debatin to get either a dc2 type r but 98 spec or a silvia s14 spec 2 turbo.

DC2 Type R is a 2 door model but DB8 Type R is the 4 door type r. 4 door is about 40kg heavier than 2 door but apparently faster on corners coz of more weight n grip?? Can anybody confirm this. My mate saw a 4 door one beat evos, wrxs n a dc2 type r on a track. All it had was semi slick tyres n racing brake pads

Sean..

DC2 type r n silvia s14 is totally different category rides for me..
firstly, one is na, the other is turbo..
other factors may differ, as different ppl perceive things differently.. for wat i feel, s14 is for side ways / dc2 will be for straights.. thats my basic, no need to flame me, as its just my opinion..

my suggestion for u is, settle for ur own preference.. u actually dont need opinions from others, as the ride belongs to u.. u drive it, u maintain it, u like it or don't its all about urself.. so the choice of good or bad, lies back to urself..

get a copy of the best motorring "the legend of type R" & the truth shall prevails. db8 is slower than dc2 be it in the corner or straight line.

for practical use i think a 4-door car is better because you can put more things in and ppl can get in and out of the car easier.

IMHO, for the young and young at heart a 2-door coupe is obviously better la.

anyway if you're not a drag/track junkie you won't be bothered much about the extra 40kg and the disadvantage in terms of power/weight
