    Yeah, 140k for just a puny 1.5lt 118hp car is just ridiculous. That's almost rm1.2k/hp. Then the top end at 160k for just 160hp is also still an expensive rm1k/hp, similar to the new Camry. On the other hand AMG A45 when it came out was only rm350000 and producing 360-380hp so only rm930-970/hp. ☺️

    Why la... how do you explain the 1.4 and 1.2L engines from VW that sold quite well back in the day before all the transmission problems

    That is down to the perception of owning a foreign vehicle which in the mind of most Malaysian...a premium car.

    those were turbos, twin charged even. also DSG makes for a tempting buy

    Yes exactly, people thought " wah Conti German cars, ada twincharge, turbo, DSG, lbh murah dari BMW & Mercs wooo, buy buy!". :biggrin:
