Just wait in a few more years then the new price will drop to rm90-100k only.
Why not just use 1 type of transmission that's is more reliable, say the wet DSG type? Maybe typical Germans, always want to complicate things, or still trying to save the dry DSG?

350nm torque why badge at 380?:hmmmm:
VW uses the 380 badge to indicate the range of torque the engine produces, globally. I remember during Jetta launch 2 months ago, VPCM personnel said that in other region where better fuel quality permits, the engine may produce up to 380Nm. So, it is likely that our Passat 'only' produce 350Nm due to fuel quality factor.

The Jetta is indeed produces 250Nm, but the badge reads 270Nm if I'm not mistaken. What I'm saying is the same measures taken by VPCM (Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia), Jetta engine produces up to 270Nm globally, but our version manages about 250Nm, and for the Passat, the engine range could produce up to 380Nm while our version produces 350Nm.

They don't want to put different badges for different markets, so they uses single number for the engine, regardless of how many torque it produces.

Sorry for the confusion.
