sifu....can service vvt pulley?
was about to ask the same question...can it be service....and where recommend to do it...??

for me i dont mind the diesel sound...its 20v trademark sound...and for me it doesnt feel right if you change to adjustable cam pulley (thus removing the vvt function) just to get rid of the diesel sound :stupid: ...but that is a matter of personal preference....

I not mean to change to adjustable cam pulley.

Can the cam pulley be service? Cos i still want the VVT function but I just want to reduce the diesel sound.

Previously got a mechanic told me that service the cam pully can reduce the diesel sound. Does it really work after service??

sifu....can service vvt pulley?
Yes, it can be done... but only a few experienced mechanics are doing it. Price range will be around RM500 with warranty (depending on VVT pulley condition).
If you're interested, PM me and I'll hook you up.

The easiest way to determine is when you hear the diesel engine sound from your 20v. Also, in some cases there will be oil leaking from the VVT pulley and sluggishness when VVT kicks in.

When VVT kicks in, the noise is less noticeable because the OCV will allow more oil to run into the VVT pulley. So usually the noise is only noticeable when below 3000rpm (slowing down) and when idling. Basically there are wear & tear parts inside the VVT pulley which tends to rattle when spinning.
