My old corolla running on carb has a really bad power loss during sunny day or hot weather. It hardly reach over 140 km/h and i can feel the engine is strugling hard to build up its rev.

Dont have this problem in the morning or night time.

running without thermostat, using toyota red coolant with 2 new fan,Radiator no blockage, running on semi castrol magnatec 10-40W.And i always wash the engine.

i suspect the engine oil overheat. And now i start to heat the engine keep knocking and pinging.

What's wrong with the car?how to fix it?

At night and during cool weather the air is colder there fore it is more dense compared to hot air. When your engine sucks in the colder air at night, that is when you feel that you got more power........

Correct me if i'm wrong...

now then your problem is found, open pod suck too much hot air thus lowering your performance, unless you rev alot at tracks then only use open pod. else just stick to drop in performance filters.

your car need to be constantly moving then only the CAI works. else it's just continue sucking the hot heat from the engine bay.

TypicalGuy,
The first thing I'd suggest would be to drive according to speed limit. Why give the cops a reason to book you, right? We should all drive accordingly so that when cops stops us for no valid reason, we need not be afraid of them and need not pay them any coffee money. As for all your other statements, I'm not sure how to help. hahaha

a/f ratios?.lean problems condition:get slightly better performance when hot/normal running temprature.
rich problems:get better when its cold mostly in the morning and become worse when running in hot sunny days,so seem like your carb need to be rejetted.
