Call Amin should you be interested in fitting Satria R3 dampers and spring on your SGTi. Several GTI have done so and are satisfied with the results.

Amin can be contacted at 016 2298717

Actually the rear springs are stiffer 1.8kg/mm. And the dampers have been tuned for a more "exciting" ride.

Faisal, thanks

Rays39,

2.5Kg/mm mean the amount of weight required to push the spring down 1mm in its free standing state ie on the shopfloor

Hence about 25Kg to push it down 1cm

spring rates for the 1.3/1.5 protons are different about 1.8Kg/mm for the front and 0.8kg/1kg depending on hatch or sedan models

the diameter/lengths/thickness also vary from model to model

if u study secondary school physics.The spring rate we mention here is the K rate.
Rmb the formula F=kX ??
It is the same as what pace explained.The amount of force to compress or pull the spring to a certain distance.
Refer back to the formula.
F= the force(eg,Newton,kg,g,etc)
K=is a constant( for our topic it is the spring rate)
X=the distance travel.

So let's say our spring rate is 4.4kg/mm (which onces i used for my car)
The formula will be F=4.4X
So let's say i wanna know how many KG i need to compress my spring to a distance of 10mm
So simple enuff just F=4.4(10)=44kg
very simple explanation...correct me if i am wrong.Long time didn't touch this kinda mech physics.

Pace & Escaflowne;

I'm really thanks for both of u to explain about SPRING RATE.
That's y i always tell my friends that i can able learn a lot of things from internet/forum.
My physic subject always fail:regular_smile: :regular_smile: So i learn nothing in school:embaressed_smile: :embaressed_smile:
