what do you know about the Altezza? 6-speed manual - good luck finding one. Expect to pay 50k++ for one of those in good condition.
Have been reading up on it for awhile now, see quite a few popping up for 30-40k but have not gone to see condition. I like the FR layout and 6 spd my, bonus that it's a 4 door sedan so daily driving practicality is there.

Join the Altezza M'sia FB group. Quite often you'll see them for sale but I've yet to see a 6-speed ori for sale. The FB club sellers usually are the owners so the cars are usually in waaaaay better condition than those you find in used car shops.

Just be sure to check which 3S engine is in it. There's the G1,2,3 and latest 4. The newer the engine the lesser the headaches unless they can show proof of service. Good luck hunting.

if you are looking for an original manual car, the engine would be a g1/g3... if not mistaken, g2/g4 came paired with the autoboxes

Yes the body quite heavy..but acceleration still considered good.

Yes the car is quite heavy but it still pulls hard. Around 1360kg. I had a 4age blacktop 6 speed in a toyota corolla ae101 (estimate 1150kg, 165hp) vs the altezza 6 speed (1360kg, 210hp) before. The altezza still comes out ahead even though heavier by 200kg. Altezza owner claims best time at 7.4 seconds. My 4age around 7.8 seconds.

7.4secs is pretty good, similar to Mark X.

Yup. Stable (heavy) and good acceleration. Good for those who travel often.

If want fast acceleration, should consider a lighter car. As a comparison

Toyota corolla ae101 with 6 speed blacktop, 165hp, 1150kg, 7.8 seconds.

Altezza rs2000 6 speed, 210hp, 1360kg, 7.4 seconds

Honda integra dc5 type R 6 speed, 220hp, 1180kg, 6.2 seconds.

Nissan sentra b13 with sr20ve 20v engine, mt 6 speed, 225hp (dyno-ed and converted to crank hp), 1100kg, 5.8 seconds.

Are the spare parts still easy to source? Considering it's almost 20 years old, and reliability for daily driving? Plan to get one next year, budget 30++K sufficient ?

It's not a low-end-torque kinda car. The real torque comes in 4-6k rpm. Rev the crap out of the car to feel good. Kinda like Honda B-series engines

Is it recommended to get a cheaper auto tezza and swap to MT gear box? Or just get a manual in the first place?
Depends on your budget. If you can afford it buy the manual straight away. Less headache.

Also auto-manual conversion you'll need to make sure you have the right chassis. I forgot which one, but there's one oil hard line that goes from the front to back - the auto one has the line on the left side. Manuals is on the right.
