Hi guys,

Just wondering anyone try before on this project?

And can this setup achieve 200hp on wheel?

If anyone tried before mind to share the spec of the engine?

GTI 4G93 engine 1.8L
MIVEC head
high-lift of cam
port-polish
engine balance
hi-comp piston
racing bearing
racing conrod
& etc....

Or any pro mechanic in 1.8L 4G93 MIVEC?

Plan to build this engine....

Hope someone can help out.

I see. When you got your 180hp on wheel. Is without aftermarket cam. Right?

And also best to match with GTI 1.8L gearbox or MIVEC gearbox?

And without after market high-lift cam, what's d max RPM rev can the engine rev up to safely?

GTI 4G93 piston size is 81? Let's say I want to upgrade piston to 82.5 size, what need to be done on the block? Need block guard like B16A convert to B20B.....

I have a GSR head but am thinking of downgrading back to stock head because my GSR head seems to be giving me less HP... with the stock head, I plan to upgrade the pistons to a 82mm one...

Would it be ideal or should I stick with teh GSR head?

not sure the gsr head has high lift cam.. i think mivec head setup is better for na. even turbo gsr wants mivec head to increase their power.

Hi guys,

Just curious because when I saw my friend dyno sheet 153hp on wheel at Dyno Dynamics. Below is his car setup.

4G93 block
MIVEC head
MIVEC cam
S90 Throttle Body
Other mod like filter, exhaust & extractor

What I curious is many ppl claim that with above setup they got 180-190hp on wheel. Is this HP figure they provide is on engine? Not on wheel. Right?

Or my friend engine got problem & should not be getting so less HP?

If u want to change into bigger piston then better stick with the turbo head...

200hp 4g93mivec was with performance cam..not the stock mivec cam

Which mean 4G93 MIVEC with stock MIVEC cam should get around 150hp & above on wheel only la.
So many ppl claim have 180-190hp. I think that HP reading is on engine... Haha...

sometime different dyno shop different figure also.. dont quickly believe if they has 180-190hp figure unless u know what they done to the engine. if u dont believe, poison some newbie driving stock evo to do dyno and see how much it clocks.. hehe

Dyno Dynamics is also known as the "heart breaker" dyno...they report significantly lower figures than the more common DynoJet machine

based on the dyno dynamics figures i would assume it would push above 175whp on a dynojet.. best way to confirm is of course to tell ur friend to strap the car onto a dynojet

Ya i got 180 hp without aftermarket high cam. Match with 1.8l gb. My max rpm rev is 8500.my list of modify as below
Port n polish
Lighten n balancing
Lighten flywheel lighten crank
Emanage
Mivec heaad n wiring

But now is totally diff. Coz i had turbo charge it.
I turbo charge it coz not enough power when at sepang track. Straight road lose to many car. Actually depend u application for track or road use.

Head is no diff bro, gsr cam setting is for turbo, na cam is diff lift n duration. Fully balance the engine help much bro. Compression also need take consideration.

my friend drives a wira with 1.6L mivec. not much mods like e-manage, ngk cable n plug, 4-1 header + exhaust, open pod clocking 140+ hp can easily tailgate 1.8L turbocharged car.

Isn't there a picture going around right with a 1.8 Mivec producing over 200whp? Of course I don't expect it to be streetable la.

Anyway what are the reputable 4G93/Mivec workshops around KL/PJ? Only know of MH Tuner & Prodrag. Anybody care to add on?

Okay found the picture, here you go.... 236whp! Madness!

Just sharing my setup;

4g93 block with 82mm 1.6 SOHC piston
Engine Balancing done (but no knife edging on the crank)
stock cams & very minor pnp on the mivec head
1.8 stock gbox
lightened crank pulley, adj. cam pulley, fpr
emanage piggyback
honda b16b intake + cusco replica headers

on dynojet 162hp with 175nm.
when comparing against other 1.8 mivec (with stock cams and similar setup) dynocharts, that about the max (max was 162.8hp). Aftermarket cams should add between 10-15hp (peak).

okay la for old guy like me. Usable torque from 2k - 7.5k rpm.. I personally have witnessed a 4g93 mivec on a black wira aeroback (with drapes at the windows!) rolling on 17"s pulling a 204hp on GT Auto dyno a few years back.. dunno la what setan is inside..

Hi there,

I am planning for the following Yokohama tyres for my 2 cars, one using 195.55.15 and another is 180.60.14

After some research online and offline, found that Advan Neova AD07 only have size for my 195.55.15 while AVS ES100 have sizes of both.

Also known that the UTQG for AD07 is 180 AA A and ES100 is 280 AA A. If I am going to take AD07 for the 15" and ES 100 for the 14", would this be my good choices?

Need your experiences on both tyres model in terms of dry, wet, treadwear...
