M7 is now one of the most trusted and established names in the automotive parts industry, and their credibility is easily seen through its appearances on some of the major competitive automotive scenes like the D1GP and also the Japan’s Super GT. With their empire expanding all the way to North America, they are rapidly gaining ground as one of the most reliable names from the Land of the Rising Sun.
And since their focus is predominantly the Japanese automotive scene, it is not surprising to see them coming out with products to fit in the cars that are new on the road like the recently-launched Toyota 86, which was one of the cars that M7 had brought down to the Sepang International Circuit for their Drive M7 Japan/USA/Asia Shakedown Day.
Besides that, M7 also showcased their Subaru STI 400F and the M7 Lexus CT200h. Also making a surprise appearance during the private event was Aaron Aziz with his M7 GT-R R600 and comedian Zizan with his M7 Evolution X.
As part of the Shakedown event, M7’s tuned up cars were coupled with the crème de la crème of drivers from internationally renowned motorsports scene to really give the cars a good grilling, And for this, M7 had brought its team of professional drivers from all over the globe in revealing the real potential of their modifications.
Coming all the way from the States was M7’s own Formula Drift USA driver, Aurimas Odi, and Formula Drift Asia judge, Daijiro Yoshihara. Super GT/D1GP competitor, Manabu Orido and rotary-specialist Isami Amemiya had also made it down to Sepang as Team Japan for the session.*Malaysia also sent one of its own, which was none other than the Prince of Drift himself, Tengku Djan Ley.
With the much-experienced drivers behind the wheels, they acquired direct and thorough feedback on how the car now performs with the modifications done. The range of tuning done to the 86 for instance, was highly rated by both Orido and Dai as the hopped-up, new 86 now rides and handle beautifully on the M7 coilover suspension that seemed more well suited for fast street use, as compared to the yet-to-be developed all-out version for the circuits. The new brakes, a front-only system on 6 pots now provides that much needed stopping power and endurance not applicable with the stock 86’s units. The newly developed stainless, twin exit on either side, exhaust system now also puts out a perfect note for the new flat-4 engine, also audibly sound for street, but would prove be a bit too quiet for the circuit.
And it is not all business and no play. Orido even took some time off to take Zizan with his Evo X down to the circuit. Seems like he is really having a great time!
M7 will also be the co-sponsor for the GT500 Kondo Racing Team for the upcoming Japan Super GT happening this weekend, 8-10 June at Sepang International Circuit. Have you had your tickets yet?
