Bersih had made their name stink now. Date and location + the innocent yellow color also become so sensitive. Base on the federal constitution and Malaysian typical rules of thumb, we has the rights and has nothing wrong to write the 8 points of demand on a T shirt that we buy with our own money. If you put a small line like "we have the rights to voice, but we must respect police decision for public safety. Say tak nak to illegal rally" then will be safer. No one can charge you anything. If anyone don't know how to read english and know nothing about law, demand you to take off the shirt, you can 1st find a witness and get his/her contact then reply: 1st, I believe I had done nothing wrong against any law or federal constitution. 2nd, I demand to call to the police station and seek for police officer advises for my personal safety. 3rd, I reserve all the rights for claiming back my lost time and money.

The original Bersih 2.0 yellow shirt, if you gip me, I'll use it for cleaning my tires or polishing exhaust tip with autosol.

i keep on thinking on this conversation last night and i found i got few similarities with our current gov,i guess i can stand a chance to be a minister or maybe a YB.

Why must be in Stadium Merdeka? Because of that stadium has more meaning.
Why must be on time? Because if late, the spirit may not be able to sustain at current level.
Why must do an illegal rally? Because it can achieve same level of advertising effect which will spread to the world. See, we had successfully achieve a peaceful demostrtion.

The way they treat the supporters, just like Bin Laden ask those women go and do suicide bombing to some countries for a holy reason. The only different is that bersih use sympathy tactic and Osama use hard core way to get things done. The holy reason is still remain as holy as it is. But whatever achieved has nothing to do with the holy reason that people been told.

After the rally, 1 died and many injured and many suffered. The missile had been successfully hit the gov. Other than that, any of the 8 points of demand achieved? Or even sending the holy memorandum? Uncountable resources wasted for political fight. And some people still enjoy to be praised as a brave man. They enjoy for the 1st time to do something against the police. But they don't know, many of the leaders are aware that doing illegal rally guaranty will be stop by police. If don't dismiss, sure the police will step forward and use force. Everytime also got people injured or died. They have enough of experience. Yet, they still like to do it this way. Why? Fresh meat is FOC, strengthen the supporters spirit to against the gov, make people hate the gov and biggest advertising effect. 1 stone several birds. I respect the time they take for organizing the rally. If you ask me to do, I need to take 2-3 weeks at minimum in order to sketch out a program and arrange man power. If they are not super men, then this thing must have planned in an ealier stage.

They were right when they annouced the victory. They did win the fight and the target achieved. They were honest in this announcement.

That's why I said ealier on, Bersih had been stolen.

Hanging my head in shame — A coward

JULY 12 — I am a cyber-kaypoh, and I am a coward. I am what people call NATO — no action and talk only. I vent my displeasure only in the form of words and mostly in news portal comments.
I talk big and never have the guts to act. I support Bersih and its agenda but all I can give were stupid comments whereas what they or like-minded Malaysians most needed was physical presence or rather participation in the peaceful walk.
But fear gripped me. I failed to overcome the fear and I am quite ashamed to face my own people, let alone my God. I plough through the news portals and lots of amazing stories have come out, showing citizens taking up their democratic rights so that the country can reform for the better. And in one case, a Malaysian patriot, Baharudin Ahmad, died.
Why did I not participate? Lots of excuses. I stay in Singapore — no time to go back. I have a family to take care of — what will happen to them if I am arrested? I may lose my good-salaried job — who is going to pay the bills? I may get hurt/killed by the police and the likes of Perkasa and other extremists.
Why didn’t you wear the yellow shirt? I didn’t know there was a peaceful sit-in at Hong Lim Park. No yellow shirt. Don’t think lacking one makes any difference. I managed to talk myself out of this. Being a coward and selfish have done me in and kept me “involved” by going online for news in the comfort of my room sitting on my posh sofa.
Meanwhile, the patriots were “fighting” for a better Malaysia so that our children can have a better civil society. I would like to sincerely thank all those “fighters” and their sacrifices. Especially to the family of Baharudin Ahmad who should be considered a hero. Come this general election, I will be sure to vote in a civil government.

Personally, I prefer to see no rally no demo but hundred of thousands or even million people to wear the same clothing on weekends, every fcking weekends, to remind each other on the demand that they are requesting.

Also, millions car on the road with the same stickers every fcking day. And of cause, Bersih can trade mark their logo and make some money for making the organization more efficient, even can extend their wing to anti corruption and occasionally support the charity.

In this way, winning is on the rakyat side and losing is on the dirty politicians side. Not like now, both BN and opposition are winning (BN can voice loud to control future demo and opposition won people's support.

The more they fight, the more winning chance they have), rakyat and bersih itself are losing (those injured, lost time, money and etc. Bersih's image spoiled due to create chaos via illegal event and link to political party. Of cause, tax payer is the one who paid everything including the cost of sending extra police/inspectors to monitor Bersih members).

I just can't belip why high IQ group can have such low EQ move. But lawyer suppose to have both IQ and EQ high as their nature job requirement. So what is the main purpose to create an illegal rally while there are many options out there? Please find me an answer else I cannot sleep for few nights.

i have a few questions to ask you, it doesn't matter whether you have high IQ or EQ or not.

1. you said that you dunno why Bersih MUST do the illegal rally. My question to you is, WHY is the rally illegal?

just because police said so? just because home minister said so? just because prime minister said so? just because you said so? if yes, then why do we need a Federal Constitution since so many people can just change the law/rules as much as they like without referring to the FC?

2. Bersih is a non-governmental organization. they have their beliefs and demands, just like you have. you don't see them dictating what your beliefs and demands should be do you?

if you do not like to have clean and fair elections, is there a need to belittle the work of others?

for example, if you don't like pets at all, and therefore, don't really care about SPCA, why you sibuk wanna laugh or belittle SPCA's work?

3. what the heck do you mean by govt and opposition win? you don't even understand why people risk harassment, arrests, violence to attend the Bersih rally, what makes you think you know who the winners and the losers are?

there is this old lady who has become really famous in facebook. they call her lady of liberty. do you think she lost to both govt or opposition?

to me, she tapao everyone... BECAUSE SHE OVERCAME THE FEAR of May 13 and marched on the streets for a better Malaysia so HER CHILDREN can enjoy it.

you got the balls to do that? in this case, it seems like the lady tapao you also la...

so... once again, do you think she LOST?

4. you wanna talk about wastage of public funds? let's start counting.

4.1. thousands of police and FRU deployed to arrest 'illegal demonstrators' only to blanja them makan buffet later.

4.2. tear gas no need money? why shoot so many for "ONLY 6,000" people? got oversupply is it until have to shoot inside hospital compound? clear stock ah? who is wasting whose money now?

where is the molotov cocktail and parang? all unarmed. why police must use force? you saying that well-trained police cannot arrest an unarmed citizen bare-handed? then what they learn in training? who is wasting whose money now?

4.3 police didn't monitor la. you were not there don't simply talk rubbish la. your "low IQ and low EQ" lawyers monitored AND helped the citizens. more than 100 doctors offered to help give medical aid FREE of charge. so you see... all your "low IQ and low EQ" professionals helped wile the police give free tear gas and free chemical water. so once again, who is wasting whose money now?

you can write as much as you want but it is very convenient of you to forget that IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO HOLD RALLIES as it is written in the Federal Constitution.

how did Malaysia achieve Merdeka?

you think at that time TAR didn't go from kampung to kampung to gather support and rally for independence?

what you think he just woke up one day, decide to take a long boat trip with a whle group of others like Tun Sambanthan and Tun Tan Cheng Lock to England and ask for Merdeka?

then you think he came back and announced on radio that Malaysia will get independence soon and suddenly people turn up and shout Merdeka?

I truly believe we are a maturing/growing country. Nothing to do with per capita GDP etc but more as a nation. 50+ years is just a number. Like children, some children mature faster... some mature slower. But if we were to mature, we need to learn. Not everything from the opposite side of the divide is wrong and neither everything is always right. We are all humans after all. To admit we are wrong is hard but to deny or even worst, be ignorant stunts growth.

When people ask me, "who I am allign to?" I say neither. I am a apolitical, bipartisan... a customer and both side needs to give me their best service, track records. The party that does the most good while least bad gets my vote. I dont care if Toyota or Honda says they are the best, the other side is crap etc. When it's time for me to put money down for a car, I evaluate my options and I put a tick in a box.

Sometimes, it does feel like chosing between the lesser of 2 evils. But at least it's a choice I can make. And hence I will not and never took part in any demo, go to any General Assembly of any parties etc.

The only reason it changed this time is... because I felt there is a chance, a possibility that my "voice", my vote, my choice could be tampered with. And what I say doesn't count. This time it was not about any political parties but the fact that there is a POSIBILITY that what you ordered is not what you are going to get. It might or might not happen but to me, I am not going to take a chance. So to me, Bersih was like this. They were trying to make sure they remove any or as much possibility of any tampering. I dont want to buy a car and find out later someone else screwed with my order.

Sorry for the long note but since it's a car forum, thought I throw in some car anology to understand why some people felt very passionate about this.
