Motoring royalty has reached our shores as Rolls-Royce Motor Cars officially opened its latest showroom in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The dealership, owned by Quill Motorcars, was unveiled by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Asia Pacific Regional Director Paul Harris, General Manager of South and East Asia Pacific Brenda Pek and the Managing Director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur Datuk Michael Ong.
“We continue to invest in a Malaysian market buoyed by the country’s economic growth and growing appetite for super-luxury cars. Our presence signals our commitment to providing service support for current and future customers, many of whom are new to the brand,” said Harris.
“Today marks a milestone as Quill Motorcars embarks on its quest to build the Rolls-Royce business in Malaysia. From our Phantom and Ghost demonstrators to our ability to help customers create highly bespoke cars, Quill Motorcars is ready to ensure that Rolls-Royce customers have nothing less than a highly positive ownership experience. Our authorized workshop, which is fully supported by the Rolls-Royce factory, is also equipped with the latest technology to service Rolls-Royce cars,” added Ong.
The new facility covers an area of 224-square meters and houses three Rolls-Royce motor car demonstrators. There is also a lounge that doubles up as the area for customers to configure the car they intend to buy by selecting the colour, wood grain and leather from the samples sent from the manufacturing plant in Goodwood, England.
Housed within the Quill 9 building in Petaling Jaya, the strategically positioned showroom is within easy access of Kuala Lumpur and brings the number of Rolls-Royce dealerships in the Asia Pacific region to 18 and the global total to 81.

All the models in the lineup will be available for purchase. The lineup includes the Phantom, Phantom Extended Wheelbase, Phantom Drophead Coupe, Phantom Coupe and Ghost. If you really need to know how financially lacking you are, pricing for the Phantom models start from RM3.3 million whereas the Ghost model is from RM2.1 million.
Now you’re probably trying to rearrange your broken jaw that fell with a thud to the table when you read the pricing. You should still, amidst trying to piece back your jaw, remember that almost all Rolls-Royce models are never alike due to the abundance of options available. Furthermore, the Bespoke program allows almost limitless customization of the car according to the customer’s desires.
Buying a Rolls-Royce, one can’t be expected to be limited by standard options and features. The Bespoke program compromises of a specialized team of design, engineering and sales professionals that work together to bring the customer’s desires into reality.
Just a mere five years ago, only half of all the Phantom models included elements of Bespoke. Now however, almost all models included a customized touch through the Bespoke program.
A client can discuss his ideas with the dealer but quite a number choose to come to the manufacturing plant in Goodwood to clear up even the smallest details that could vary from the stitching on the upholstery to the seat piping.
Every client is also invited to the plant to witness the engine and chassis coming together, where they will also receive a 72-page book detailing the production of their Phantom.
As mentioned, the possibilities are unlimited. The Bespoke team has managed to develop individual exterior paints, leather floors instead of carpet, illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy figurines, Hermes roof lining and even using wood veneers harvested from a tree grown on the customer’s own estate.
Then there’s the additional equipment such as luggage, glassware and a built-in picnic sets that are all designed in-house at Goodwood. The process of putting together a Bespoke Phantom could take up to six months but customers are prepared to wait for the ultimate embodiment of personalized motoring.
