Hi everyone, as per title, I am trying to find a comparison between these 3:
Continental MC6 vs Falken FK510 vs Continental ExtremeContactSport

From what I've read, MC6 has stepped up from touring summer tyre(MC5) to UHP tyre, compete against Michelin PS4. Continental ExtremeContactSport on the other hand is the direct competitor to Michelin PSS which has been replaced by PS4S. The prices for these 2 models are not far apart, atleast to me.

Here comes the Falken Azenis FK510. Based on reviews from europe, this seems like a really great tyre where it beats Continental CSC6 in wet handling. Certainly, Falken FK510 will not be cheap like Hankook V12 evo2 as per what everyone have been speculating. Let's wait for Falken Malaysia to announce the official price somewhere this year if i remember correctly.

So let's assume the price for all these 3 are in similar range, which would be the top performer? which one would you pick?

Sad thing about MC6 is that there is not much reviews available as this tyre is mainly for APAC.

To me, i prefer to have a stiff sidewall tyre which gives me better steering feel. Comfort is not something that is in my priority list as I am driving a car with 19" with sport suspension which i do not think tyre like Nexen Nfera Su1 will transform my car into Myvi in terms of comform level.

So, which is your pick?

First of all, those tire prices are NOT similar! The Extreme Sport is a bit more expensive at similar price range to PS4, while the MC6 & FK510 are more similar prices and cheaper but still slightly above V12E2.

So out of those 3, depends on what's the budget. If more limited budget then I'd pick the FK510 for the best value for money because it's more proven than the MC6. If got higher budget than can opt for the Extreme Contact Sport.

If Stamford price the FK510 correctly, this tyre will be value for money....:driver:

Some in the LYN Forum already ask around some shops for theFK510 pricing and it's pretty competitive at just a bit higher (maybe 15-20%) than the cheapest prices for V12E2, which is still much cheaper than PS4 price level. So this is gonna be my first choice for next change for sizes 17' above while the V12E2 will be first choice for smaller sizes. For higher budget, it will be between PS4 or Extreme Contact Sport.

Not as cheap since it's made in Japan. But I'm comparing with the cheapest price of V12E2 from mudah which is very cheap for that kind of tires, so 15-20% more expensive from that for the FK510 is still cheap and good value for money since it's still much cheaper than PS4 and also supposedly even better than the V12E2.

But lately 15" Hankook V12Evo2 got 2017 dated tyre on promo......lol
I just bought V12E2 recently for my SSS size 195/55/15 year 2018, only rm170/pc. Anyway even 2017 tires are also equally good la. A few times I've bought 1 year old tires before and they're all performing as expected, no regrets whatsoever to enjoy the extra promotion for such older tires.

Yup, 1 year old on promo price is really worth it.

I'm not sure how much PS4 cost as the size that I'm using, 235/35/19 for the front doesn't have PS4 but PS4S. But yeah, hopefully it will be around the same as MC6.

However, no one mention about the wear rate of FK510. To me, anything with 20k to 25k KM is good.

But if FK510 is not far off from Extremecontact sport, I'm sure conti is the better option right?

Kovalainen was right on the pace again today at the Valencia circuit, lapping just 0.017s slower than the defending world champion...
