Saw some news on the new Conti MaxContact6. Wow, upgraded to UHP. Can't wait for the reviews on this tyre. Not been a big fans of MC series as the previous MC5 was an overrated tyres. UHP, Traction AA seems interesting.

Re: Mc6

yes, as far as i've been told the MC6 now competes with Michelin's PS4, whereas the CSC will go against the PS4 S now. I had the pleasure of sampling the MC6 yesterday at Sepang, please stay tuned

Great aspirations. But I am so skeptical. And objectively testing tires isn't easy so...

CPC6 developed by joining CSC5 to CPC5, that is why the test showed good result....:driver:

Now wait see how MC6 fares.....:smokin:

Re: Mc6

Interesting coz there should already be CPC6 to compete with PS4, so curious where this MC6 is positioned. Maybe even though UHP but still entry level, need to see the tread wear rating then might give more indication. CPC series usually is 280 so if this MC6 is still 340 like MC5 then should be harder compound with lower grip.

Re: Mc6

Conti models very confusing. Those days got comfort, premium and sports category, now got Max which is in between CC and CPC. Later got UC between CC and MC, Now MC goes into UHP higher than CPC.....lol

This time the comparison was done against the older MC5, so it's hard to see how it fares. But the MC6 has definitely grown up and shows traits of a UHP

Re: Mc6

Hey Tom, did Conti indicate a price range? If cheap then PS4 no fight imho. PS4 is still stupidly expensive and is still price king amongst the UHPs. If the MC6 does have UHP characteristics and isn't just hype then pricing will probably be key.

And why would they want to compare with MC5? I guess they didn't want to tread on anyones toes?

PS4 actually not that expensive coz made in Thailand. F1A3 seems more expensive and also CSC5, coz both still made in Europe.

Btw this MC6 tread pattern looks more like a SUV/truck tire.
