i was thinking of exactly the same thing. last year he was worth +-$15bil, so why take 1/3 of his fortune on one extravagant venture? unless he intends to die on that yacht in style...

or it's someone else's yacht. and there's only 1 name that comes up - the $24mil ring lady hahaha!

Robert Kuok according to Forbes magazine is Malaysia's richest bloke. And according to Forbes he's estimated to be worth RM15billion.

Unless there are lots of underground and hidden billionaires in M'sia there's no way a savvy business man will spend half (or more) of his fortune on a boat!

Buffett is a notorious scrooge, his house is actually considered small compared to Gates and all these other rich folks. Someone did a piece on the worlds richest and Buffets house was the size of a small sized Malaysian bungalow. Gates lives in a mega mansion.

But with all the recent Scorpene scandals and cronyism and crap - i'm not surprised if 24mil ring lady owns a mega yacht since that Scorpene deal was in the mega millions range. Then there was evidence of the previous PM having a yacht built in Turkey during his reign. So whats gonna happen? Easy. We'll hear about some boat builder being blown up with C4 for talking too much.

he is officially the richest bloke in Malaysia, which means his wealth is taxed and declared. you know what kind of money can't be declared? corruption money, bribes etc.
