Airtrek Turbo (CU2W) Engine (4G63T), tranny and drivetrain swap to Lancer 2008

Dear All,

As per mentioned above, is it doable for the above swap. In US, there's this dude swap in 4G63T from an Evo 8 into his Evo X and made 600whp. Airtrek turbo half cuts are quite affordable and it also packs 240hp and AWD stock.

Exploring some options since i ad done 1jzvvti into my BMW coupe.

As long as you have money and a adventurous tuner/mech, any engine can be fitted into any car.

I've heard of a 4AGE Myvi, K-swapped Persona, B18 Myvi, B18 Wira, 2jz Defender, 1jz BMW, SR20 BMW, RB26 BMW, 2JZ Cayenne, JZA80 Supra with a N52 3.0, the list goes on. There's so many varieties. A 4G into a Lancer is probably so wildly done it's not even interesting anymore.

I've even tested a RX8 SR20, an Almera SR20, Lancer CA18, and a lot more. All great cars.

But any sort of rojak work expect to pay a premium for the work done.

4g in an inspira body... u might as well get the 4b instead... simpler life....

airtrek's swap into your car isnt straightforward.

Phew you really love your Lancer GT eh! The engine orientation is reverse compared to airtrek/Evo 4-9 4G63T isn'tit? Or you get the older VR4/Evo 1-3 engine then same orientation, just need to flip it, no?

I think might as well just buy a used airtrek turbo.

The Lancer GT is Evo X version so is 4B not 4G

My mech recommended to get older Evo III engine due to the engine mount itself is similar direction with the 4B, even though the later engine is better but due to engine bracket itself is largely different, the bracket will need lots of trial and error to produce. The mech that did my 1J conversion would like to explore but he would prefer to get complete car rather than engine or gearbox lantai. Most headache thing again is wiring, to get the car start up and link to stock cluster properly.

WTF am i reading it right ? JZA80 with N52 3.0 ? Is it the twin turbo version or N/A ?

Yes i know 4B11T swap is straight and simple, but the half cuts ain't cheap because some jackasses decided to horde most the stocks and manipulate the prices to over 20K just for half cut ! With installation i will foresee another 10k. If the half cut cost is 50% reduced i will take 4B anyday.

Airtrek Turbo has horrible ride haha ! I hate tall SUV (no offense to any SUV owners). VR4 and EVO 1-3 engine has almost the same layout, just need to position the AWD gearbox first before position the engine, then we will see how to custom the engine bracket. I am still examining the feasibility of doing this conversion. Who knows ? 1 year later suddenly i spotted a fairly good 4B11T half cut ? This thread will be redundant.

Oh well i'd done a 1JZ E46 swap which another car i adore so much since my highschool, so what the heck, moving on to the other one. LOLLLLLLL

u should see the later gen evos, those after 3, mahal also

im just saying.... for the money and effort, just use the 2.4 block + bolt on... ur budget, can get it done right.

u put a 4g in there, be prepared to keep it forever (assuming they even give u the approval)

I think if you swap to Evo X 4b11t will end up cheaper.
