Hi guys

Just a quick question to see if anyone knows which tyres is best on our airtrek turbos when using a evo 7 alloy wheel?

On an evo its recommended that 235/40/17 are used but I assume that on the airtrek it maybe better to go for a slightly taller tyres maybe 225/50/17???

Any help as always is much appreciated.
These are the alloys for reference:

Covert from your original tyre size and do not pass 3% difference in your overall diameter size

Thanks its:
215/60/16
Oh! common SUV tyre size......

Upgrade to 17"

215/55R17 - 0.59% bigger but very close to original size. Plenty Tyre choice but with 55 series aspect ratio mostly Mid range tyres

225/50R17 - 1.16% smaller. Wheel will look slightly smaller. Tyre choices plenty having mid to UHP tyres

225/55R17 - 2.24% bigger. Even though bigger but within 3% rule change. More comfort but less pick up power as overall diameter of wheel is larger.Tyre choices also quite a lot but mainly mid category

235/50R17 - 0.36% bigger
245/45R17 - 1.82% smaller
Overall diameter fits but the tyres may be too wide for your rims. Need 7.5 and 8.5 inch wide rims.
Tyres are expensive and choices much less. Car will be bumpy bat handling will be good....

If 17' then 225/50/17 should be the best size coz at least still got some UHP tires even though not that plenty.
If 18' the use 235/45/18.

Thanks guys, I already have the EVO 7 alloys ready to have tyres fitted so no 18"'s yet!lol

I think I will go for the 225/50/17 you guys advised.
I love the car its really a great piece of kit, I own a evo 6 also and this car is the perfect compromise TBH, Very comfortable yet still has decent pace. GLad I did not buy a forester STI!

235/45R17 is too small. 245/45R17 is already smaller by 1.82%. This tyre is for his airtrek not Evo6.....hahhahaha:biggrin:
