BMW to start production of front-wheel-drive models

Reports have surfaced saying that a top official at BMW has confirmed that the German carmaker will soon begin to produce front-wheel-drive vehicles. The car, likely to compete with the Audi A1, will be based on a new joint architecture, currently in its research phase, that will be shared with the MINI. Read more
BMW Confirms Production of MINI Coupe and Another Yet To Be Unveiled Model

BMW has confirmed that it will soon be adding two new variants to the MINI brands; the Coupe Concept seen above has been confirmed and the second concept model will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.
If current rumours on the automotive grapevine turn out to be true, then the second concept to make it to production will be a speedster version of the coupe. BMW has not announced any timing for when production of the new models would start production and also yet unknown is whether the Coupe and Speedster will be available only in John Cooper Works form or in base Cooper and S forms as well.
