Officially Official: Audi Releases Information On The New RS5

So much for holding back till the actual unveiling, following last weeks brochure leak, Audi has released official information about the RS5.
There were plenty of speculations about the engine and it has now been confirmed that the RS5 will be powered by a 4.2-liter V8 that’s good for 444hp and 430Nm of torque. Channeling all that power to the tarmac is a seven-speed S tronic transmission that allows 1,725kg coupe to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.6-seconds before it reaches it’s electronically limited 250km/h. And if you don’t like to be restrained by a electronic leash, Audi can remove the speed limiter that allows for a 280km/h top speed.

Audi R8 Spyder Promo Film

Audi released a new video promoting its R8 Spyder variant. The 1min 23sec shows off the abilities of the R8 to work well both in urban areas and wide open roads. The Spyder runs the same 5.2-liter V10 engine found in the coupe and max power stands at 518ps and 530Nm (391lb-ft) of torque. The Spyder does the century sprint in 4.1-seconds and top speed is rated at 312km/h (194mph).
The unique thing about the Spyder is the way it dresses and undresses its canvas top. With the help of electrohydraulics and smart packaging, the top comes off in just 19 seconds. The canvas roof can be activated at speeds of up to 50km/h. Great video, it just makes you say, wow, I want one. Read more
Audi A1 – The Countdown Officially Begins

After months of teasing with concepts and others, the Audi A1 will finally make its official first sanctioned public appearance at the 2010 Geneva International Motor Show. To be specific, on March 2nd, 2010, Audi representatives will be unveiling the new A1 to the media.
Audi says the A1 is a subcompact premium hatchback that’s aimed at the younger generation and that’s exactly what the promotional video above implies with it’s street graphic artist spray painting the A1 Concept on a wall. Read more

Here’s a classic showdown of some of the best track-ready road cars of our generation. The Nissan GT-R is the cheapest, heaviest, and least powerful of the group, but it also packs the most grip among the trio. The Porsche 911 Turbo is the lightest and possibly the most fun ride where else the Audi R8 V10 has the most power and of course, it comes with Audi’s legendary Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

The Audi R8 when it was first launched was never enough. People craved more performance and a wider variant range. So Audi introduced the R8 GT3 and the street legal R8 V10. But soon enough people will start wanting more and Audi will have to oblige. The R8 may just be able to include one or two more variants into it’s line-up but anymore and it will be overkill. The Audi R8 is already one of the most desirable cars on the planet, add that appeal to twin-turbochargers that together are capable of putting out up to 600 rear-wheel-horse-power and you have an instant success. Pity it’s not right out of the factory though, as the Audi R8 in mention has been tuned by the Florida-based Heffner Performance.
Together with a new intercooler, intake manifold and the octane of the fuel used, the car easily has a 183rwhp gain over the stock R8 and is capable of a sub-11 second quarter-mile. Check out the video above to hear the two hefty turbo’s fill up their spools to their limit. Read more
