A few days ago, we brought to you and article by Auto Express reporting on a supercar hunting Jaguar due to make an appearance in as little as 18months. Now we have Britain’s Autoweek rebuking the story and claiming that the story by Auto Express is “nothing more than a pie in the sky that will probably never be reaced.” Instead, Autoweek says, Jaguar is said to be readying a smaller sports car to be called the XE. Paris Motor Show: Jaguar XKR-S – Fastest Jag Since The XJ220

Jaguar revealed this in total silence. There was no word on its hottest XK to date till the last minute when it was revealed in Paris. The XKR-S packs a 4.2-liter V8 that delivers 420-hp to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox equipped with Jag’s Sequential Shift system. The engine and the shifts propels the big cat from 0-100 in 5.2 seconds and onto a top speed of 280km/h, officially making it the fastest production Jaguar since the controversial XJ220 supercar.
