A Classic Porsche At Spa Francorchamps Doing What A GT-R R35 Will Never Be Able To Do – Be A Handful of Fun

February 21, 2010

Why will a Nissan never beat a Porsche in terms of driveability and fun down to the purest sense of the word? Well this video proves why … a engine hanging out back beyond the rear axle never made much sense but nothing made much sense during the World War 2 era, much like the war itself. But we’re on the topic of cars and when it comes to that, there’s hardly a car that lives up to the reputation of being a proper driving machine than a classic Porsche, don’t believe me? Well check out the video above and see how much time the driver spends sideways and fighting the car, I would love to see a Nissan GT-R R35 driver handle this. If you still need convincing, there are four more videos posted after the jump. Conclusion: a Nissan will never be a Porsche. Read more

600hp Full Carbon Fiber Bodied Nissan GT-R To Debut Next Month

December 28, 2009

Nissan-GT-R-R35-Full-Carbon-1

I have never been a fan of the Nissan GT-R R35. The design and abundance of electronics doesn’t do it for me, but this, now this is totally mean. It’s still a sketch as yet but it represents a new tuning proposal from Japan’s Original Runduce. It’s a full carbon-fiber bodied GT-R with a aggressive/gorgeous aero kit that bundles wider front and rear fenders, a new hood with several air intakes and a larger rear wing plus alloy wheels of which we have no information yet because for now, Original Runduce is keeping most details a secret. But what we do know is that the Japanese tuning firm massaged the VR38DETT powerplant to produce 600hp and the finished Nissan GT-R R35 is expected to make its debut at next month’s “Tokyo Auto Salon 2010″ in Japan. With the automotive industry lovingly embracing the green movement, sports car makers have no option but to study the possibility of implementing hybrid systems into their machines. Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche – all dominant forces in the field of supercar building – have committed to the cause and pledged reduced emissions in a couple of years.

According to Japan’s Best Car magazine, Nissan – the builder of one of the most feared, respected, and over engineered cars of our time – has also committed to the cause by giving it’s 480hp GT-R the hybrid treatment. For the next R36 model anyway. Read more

December 11, 2009

Here’s a classic showdown of some of the best track-ready road cars of our generation. The Porsche 911 Turbo is the lightest and possibly the most fun ride where else the Audi R8 V10 has the most power and of course, it comes with Audi’s legendary Quattro all-wheel-drive system.

Steve Sutcliffe pits the three against each other in an attempt to find out which is best, you’re just going to have to watch him for five minutes ’cause we ain’t telling.
