Fast & Furious Back For The Fifth Installment, And Possibly Even Sixth

February 5, 2010

Fast and Furious 5 has been confirmed according to reports on the internet today. There was plenty of speculation about the next chapter to the F&F franchise after the screening of last year’s F&F 4 struck box office gold for NBC Universal but now Vin Diesel himself has confirmed the fifth and apparently the sixth installment to the movie series.

Vin Diesel made the announcement on his Facebook page that writer Chris Morgan has handed him scripts for a fifth and sixth movie in the series but there has been no official word from the studio, until now. Besides Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and director Justin Lin will also return for what’s now known simply as Fast Five.

The official announcement made no suggestions of a sixth installment, but if Vin is to be believed, they might be filming episode five and six back-to-back with a staggered release schedule that could take the F&F franchise to its ten-year anniversary in 2011. Read more

Lewis and Nicole Split …

January 11, 2010

lewis hamilton nicole

All good things come to an end and just like how Lewis Hamilton’s reign at the top of Formula One ended, so does his relationship with long-time girlfriend and singer Nicole Scherzinger.

The pair began dating after meeting at the MTV Europe Awards in November 2007, and Scherzinger became a regular at races – famously witnessing Hamilton’s world title triumph in Brazil the following year.

A statement issued by the pair on Monday said: “Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton can confirm that they have decided to go their separate ways.

“The two of them have decided to focus fully on their careers and will remain close friends.” Read more

And that’s just the people around you, imagine the number of people using an iPhone around the world. Gran Turismo 5 Postponed Again?

October 9, 2009

gt5-amazon

I’m not too sure if building one of the most impressive racing simulators of all time is just incredibly difficult, or the guys at Polyphony Digital are just messing with us, but for some reason, the release date of the very highly anticipated Gran Turismo 5 has once again been postponed. The rumoured release dates have varied from 2009, late December 2009, to December 29, and March 2010 Japan release.

The constant delay could just be a heartless marketing campaign to keep GT5 in the news but five years on and an all-new gaming console is long enough to wait for the answer to GT4. So we’re saying, enough fooling around and release it already. How hard is that?? Read more

Transformers 3 Release Date: 1st July 2011

October 6, 2009

transformers

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen may not have lived up to everybody’s expectations. But that’s no reason to write off the series. Transformers director Michael Bay has confirmed on his official website that the next installment in already in the works and has been assigned a release date – July 1st 2011.

That may seem like a long time from now but isn’t that what we said of Transformers 2 when Michael Bay first announced the release date back in 2007?? Michael Bay has confirmed on his blog post that Megan Fox has already signed up for the TF3 project and though there’s no news on Shia LaBeouf, we’re not doubting that he too will confirm his presence. Bay is also meeting up with Hasbro to discuss new characters, so you can expect a few new transforming automobiles and perhaps planes as well. Read more

Need For Speed: Shift – New Battle Mode Promises Hours of Competitive Fun

September 13, 2009

The new Need for Speed: Shift has added a new mode to make battles among friends all the more interesting and to settle “which car is better” disputes. The new mode in hand is the Car Battle mode that pits some of the fastest, fittest, downright nastiest machinery out there in head to head battles. So far fifteen different matchups are possible with cars like the Ford GT going against the Dodge Viper, Cayman against the M3, as well as such exotics as the Murcielago and Aston Martin DBRS GT cars. The point of the game is to pit stock standard, unmodified cars against each other to find out which car and which driver is the best. The game is due out next week and meanwhile you can check out the teaser video above. Read more

Gran Turismo 5 Gets Its Damage Rendering On

August 20, 2009

Gran Turismo fans rejoice, the latest GT5 with damage rendering is finally on the way and it looks good. The video above shows a Subaru STI getting smacked against all the curbs and walls; with damage control, the STI stands no chance against the elements of a race track.

There are just two things that baffle me though, how come it took so long for Gran Turismo to come up with this feature considering Forza has had damage control rendering since version 2? And how come only the Subaru gets all banged up and the other car that crashed into it looks just fine? Still in it’s conceptual stage perhaps? We’re definately hoping not considering it has taken long enough for Gran Turismo to come out of the Prologue version, we have been kept waiting long enough. Read more

CTA Digital Steering Wheel for iPod/iPhone – Ideal For Hours of Virtual Racing

August 11, 2009

ipod_str_wheel

I’m not a gadget fan. I can live with old phones, a first generation iPod Touch, a banged up & stickered out laptop, but this gadget here is friggin cool and makes me want to upgrade my phone and get a steering wheel for it. No doubt it’ll make me look like a show-off moron if I were to pull it out and start racing on a LRT but it’s still a cool gadget. A racing simulator is always fun if you’re a car-nut, which is why the CTA Digital Steering Wheel for the iPhone, iPhone 3GS and first or second-generation iPod Touch is interesting to race game fans.
