BBC Interviews Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher is no stranger to making Formula One history, the man has won seven world championships, set numerous fastest laps, pole positions, etc. But now he is again making history by just coming back to the sport. It’s going to be strange seeing him in a Mercedes GP Petronas car and; Schumacher has spent most of his career at Ferrari and is synonymous with the famous Italian marque, but nevertheless the move to the team that was once called Brawn GP will see the German pair up with his General and the man that brought him all seven World Championships – Ross Brawn. BBC caught up with Michael right after the announcement of his return and above is the video of the interview.

Is the team still using the same car? I heard that this is actually the Japanese spec (version)? Is there any difference?

A: Yes, this is the car that Eddy & I drove last year. Rueben is driving it for the 1st time.

R: It is a little different. I would say it is more refined and actually a little quicker. Our car is good, no complaints.

Eddy, are you satisfied with the program and test run today?

E: I am satisfied with the whole day’s program. But I think we need to do a little more research on the tires from today onwards. The only thing I am not satisfied with is the qualifying tire. Read more

The crazy antics, originality although sometimes non-relevant approach of the trio of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have created great interest in the weekly UK show since its relaunch in 2002.
