JKJR And Goodyear Dealers Make A Safety Pledge To Not Sell Regrooved Tyres

Goodyear dealers nationwide have pledged to fully support the recent move the Road Safety Department, or Jabatan Keselamatan Jalan Raya (JKJR) and the Ministry of Transport to ban the selling of bald and regrooved tires in an effort to improve road safety levels in Malaysia.

According to JKJR Director General Datuk Suret Singh, regrooved tires – which are produced by carving new treads into a worn tire to create more tread depth – together with bald tires account for some 15 percent of road accidents nationwide. Read more

So we continue our reviews of the previous rounds of Formula Drift as we anticipate what’s going to happen at this weekends inaugural Malaysian round of Formula Drift. In the Singaporean round, Malaysians dominated the scene with the top eight drivers being all Malaysians. Tengku Djan took top spot, Johan Norman took second and Ariff Johanis took third. The world’s first Goodyear concept tires made with ‘BioIsopreneä’ technology

Brussels, Belgium, December 7, 2009 – The world’s first Goodyear concept demonstration tires made with BioIsopreneä technology made their debut in Copenhagen, Denmark, this week. BioIsopreneä is a breakthrough alternative to replace a petrochemically produced ingredient in the manufacture of synthetic rubber with renewable biomass. One Goodyear tire will be on display at a lounge in the common departure area at the Copenhagen International Airport throughout December 21, while the other tire will make appearances at several special events during the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP 15) through December. The tires made with BioIsopreneä are the result of a collaboration between Genencor, a division of Danisco, and Goodyear, one of the world’s largest tire companies and a leader in innovation. Goodyear Formula Drift Roars To Life in Malaysia with Inaugural Championship

After successful legs in Singapore and Thailand earlier this year, ESPN STAR Sports and Goodyear are bringing the world’s most recognisable professional drifting championship to Malaysia for the first time ever this December, with the Goodyear Formula DRIFT Malaysia. ESS will repriseits role as event organizer while Goodyear continues to build its association with racing as the event’s title sponsor.
