Jaguar revealed this in total silence. There was no word on its hottest XK to date till the last minute when it was revealed in Paris. The XKR-S packs a 4.2-liter V8 that delivers 420-hp to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox equipped with Jag’s Sequential Shift system. The engine and the shifts propels the big cat from 0-100 in 5.2 seconds and onto a top speed of 280km/h, officially making it the fastest production Jaguar since the controversial XJ220 supercar.

At 14 seconds from up to down it may be really hard to beat, by the summer ladies that is. It’s a hardtop made of aluminium to keep the weight down. And when it’s down there is very little to quieten-down that V8 which sings a chorus that only 460 horses can sing through those four pipes at the back.
