I jumped into the hot seat with Peter Hackett, Australian AMG GT3 race driver where he demonstrates the talent of AMG’s GTR road car. Peter takes us on a 1 and half lap round the Sepang International Circuit while describing the best features and sensation as he goes.
Yeah, I was quite distracted by Peter’s HYT Skull watch with the skull and the green liquid running through the tiny capillary tubing. As he continues, you can see he occasionally dials the AMG Traction Control Knob located right at the centre of the dash. This knob has 9 levels of assistance, where you can go from full assist in icy roads to almost fully off where you can perform superb drift shows in the AMG GTR.
My personal opinion? Well, AMG’s new beast from the Green Hell has certainly set the benchmark as being one of the world fastest pure RWD GT car, beating even the greatest 4WD supercars at the Nur. The AMG GTR had also offered a glimpse at what the future holds for fast Mercs.
It’s just mad, how they’ve revolutionised the luxury hot-rod.
