Welcoming enrolment since January 2016, Young Aces Technical College (YATC) officially launched its vocational learning centre today. The launching ceremony was graced by Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Syarif Temenggong Perlis, Dato’ Seri Diraja Syed Amir Abidin Jamalullail and Yang Mulia Che Puan Temenggong Perlis, Datin Seri Diraja Farinawati Datuk Mohd Din.
YATC, a dynamic automotive career school and is proud to announce that its syllabus is accredited by the Department of Skills Development in the Ministry of Human Resource (JPK) Malaysia and approved by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) from the UK.
Currently offering IMI International Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance in 3 progressive levels and Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) in Level 2 and 3, the courses include topics like diagnosing and rectifying, to service and repair in engine, electrical, chassis, transmission, driveline units and components.
The 40,000 square feet integrated college located in Segambut, KL is equipped with relevant training facilities, tools and diagnostic equipment as well as cars comprised of locals, Japanese, Continental and American makes, this is for students to have hands-on learnings apart from classroom ones. This also ensures that YTAC students gain up-to-date and a wider range of automobile knowledge before they enter the industry.
CEO and Director of YTAC, Avito Makajil said, “With the ever-increasing number of cars on the road, vehicle maintenance and repair businesses are in need of professional and skilled automotive specialist to best serve the evolving market’s demands. We aim to grow our local talents with our quality training in real-world service centre environment using the latest in technology.”
The launch was also attended by Leona Chin, Malaysia’s celebrity female drifter and motorsport athlete as well as YATC partners from Mintye Industries Berhad, JPK Malaysia and SkillsMalaysia.
For the SKM Level 2 and 3 certificates, it will take 18 months of training duration, while the IMI Diploma adds on another 8 months. Students must be 16 years old or older to apply for the enrolment, however students below the age of 16 may also apply with the consent of their parents.
