The man may no longer be with us, but his legacy still lives on. Colin McRae made a name for himself in the rally arena by not only becoming the youngest person to win the World Rally Championship title in 1995, but also with his stunning performance with the Subaru World Rally Team that had resulted the team in securing the Constructors’ title three times in succession (1995-1997).
And if you are a big fan of the man, this might be one of the few chances for you to own a legendary machine piloted by a legendary driver. This particular 1997 Impreza WRC is chassis No.3 which is the same car that the late Colin McRae drove at Monte Carlo with Nicky Grist as the co-driver.
In 1998, the car was driven by Polish rally driver Krzysztof Wolowczyz in several occasions like the rally of Portugal, Argentina and Spain. It was also used from 1998 and all the way to 2008 where it had participated in a number or rallies of the WRC and ERC with privateers.
Of course, the car was restored in 2009 and the last time it participated in any event was the Rally Legend of San Marino. Since then the car was a part of a private collection and the most it moved was for short drives.
But if you are serious in getting this into your garage, a serious wad of cash is more than necessary as you would actually have to get to Germany and pay Mohr Klassik a visit. And you know it will be pricey when they do not mention the price tag.
