Offering a unique combination of driving fun and functionality, MINI Malaysia today unveiled the latest addition into the MINI family, the MINI Clubman. Engine: TwinPower Turbo 1.5L 3-cyl, TwinPower Turbo 2.0L 4-cyl (S)
Power: 136HP, 192HP (S)

“The new Mini Clubman creates a new chapter in the story of MINI. The new car revolutionizes the brand, taking the Mini appeal a notch higher with current trendsetters and drives the creative class social segment,” said Mr. Han Sang Yun, Managing Director and CEO of BMW Group Malaysia. Han also added that the Mini brand has been growing steadily where up until the month of March, 197 Mini vehicles have been delivered, marking an increase of 38% compared to the same period in 2015.
Of course, Mini has retained the signature Clubman’s split rear doors as well as the accessibility and everyday usability four full-sized side doors and five fully-fledged seats. The new Clubman is significantly larger than the predecessor model with a length of 4,253mm, 1,800mm width and a height of 1,441mm.
Both the Clubman variants benefit from the Mini TwinPower Turbo, but each of them gets a different engine. In the Mini Cooper Clubman lies a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine that packs 136-horsepower and 220Nm of torque. Zerotohundred is dealt with in 9.1 seconds and it has a top speed of 205km/h. The Mini Cooper Clubman has an average fuel consumption of 5.4 litres per 100km.
But if it is power you are looking for, the Mini Cooper S Clubman is the obvious choice as the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 192-horsepower and 280Nm of torque. Zerotohundred takes only 7.1 seconds for the S and it comes with a higher top speed of 228km/h. Average fuel consumption is rated at 5.9 litres per 100km.
For a sportier feel, the four-cylinder engine in the S is paired to an eight-speed Steptronic Transmission that ensures an even more favourable basis for efficient and comfortable driving through a broader gear spread and smaller engine speed steps. Shorter shift times can also be done by operating the paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
The Mini Clubman comes with a sophisticated suspension technology for the premium compact segment where it has the combination of a single joint strut axle at the front with a multilink rear axle. Safety is also a concern for the Clubman, and it comes with an array of features like the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and Brake Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Fading Brake Support and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC).
Space is something that the Clubman comes plenty with. The rear compartment offers a volume of 360 litres but if the 40:20:40 rear seats are folded down, the volume is drastically increased to 1,250 litres.
The new Mini Clubman is offered in Pepper White, Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey, Deep Blue, British Racing Green, Thunder Grey (only for S), and two new paint finishes, Melting Silver and Pure Burgundy. The Mini Cooper Clubman is estimated to be priced at RM 203,888, while the Mini Cooper S Clubman comes with a price tag of RM 253,888.
