We have seen the Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder biting the dust in China, and it is only a matter of time before the McLaren P1 becomes the next victim in the Holy Trinity circle. And we do not have to wait long for that as the internet is now going ablaze of pictures showing a McLaren P1 in a horrible condition after it was involved in a crash in China.
The accident took place in Hangzhou, the capital of China’s Zhejiang province, and pictures we see here were taken by a member of the Weibo forums. There was no additional detail regarding the crash, but it looked like the P1 might have been travelling in great speeds as the car suffered damages on all four corners.
The McLaren P1 is one of the treasured cars in the automotive world as the manufacturer only produced 375 units. This plug-in hybrid hypercar often gets compared to Ferrari’s LaFerrari and Porsche’s 918 Spyder as all of them feature a hybrid powertrain.
Featuring a 3.8-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine paired to an electric motor, the P1 rolls with a combined output of 904-horsepower. Weighing just over 1,300kg, such power allows it to sprint from zerotohundred in 2.8 seconds and will keep on charging until it hits the top speed of 351 km/h.
