The Hethel Factory plays an integral in Lotus’ history and since it recently passed the 50-year mark, the British automaker decided to celebrate the occasion with a special edition model. Based on the Evora 400, the Hethel Edition Evora 400 will be available in three exclusive colours with matching trims and a special commemorative build plate.
Customers will be able to choose between Essex Blue, Motorsport Black or Racing Green for the exterior, and having the interior finished in either red or black leather. Alcantara interior trim is also offered as an option. Every Hethel Edition comes with lightweight silver forged wheels, contrasting brake calipers and bespoke graphics.
The performance of the Hethel Edition is still the same as any Evora 400 with power coming from a 3.5-liter V6 engine pushing out 400-horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque. Tipping the scales at 1,395kg, zerotohundred is dealt with in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 300 km/h.
“The Evora 400 is the latest in a long line of world-beating sports and racing cars to have all been hand built in Hethel over the last 50 years. We are immensely proud to be part of the community and it is entirely fitting that this limited edition be dedicated to our home. We’re looking forward to celebrating our connections to Norfolk throughout 2016, and more Lotus Hethel Anniversary news will be announced soon,” said Jean-Marc Gales, Lotus Group CEO.
