Throughout the months of speculations and endless rumours, we have heard numerous names being brought up rumoured to be the next Top Gear presenters. Starting with the trio of Philip Glenister, Guy Martin and Jodie Kidd, the official confirmation of Chris Evans being the main presenter of Top Gear slowed down the rumour mill for a bit.

And after having names like Sabine Schmitz and Chris Harris in the loop, Top Gear had finally managed to complete their presenter line up to be presented to the public. Ever since the departure of the Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, we knew that the new Top Gear will not be the same as the one we used to know. And with the reveal of this line up, that point has never been more obvious.

Instead of having three presenters on board, Top Gear had decided to go over the top by having twice the amount of presenters in the show. Not four, nor five, but six. Names that we have heard earlier were Chris Evans and Friends star Matt LeBlanc, but they were then joined by Sabine Schmitz, Chris Harris, Eddie Jordan, and Rory Reid.

The appearance of Schmitz and Harris may not have come as a surprise as they were both spotted with film crews during the production of the new season. Schmitz is well-known as the ‘Ring Queen as well as a German racing instructor, and Harris is a British automotive journalist that needs no introduction if you are a petrolhead and spend your time on Youtube, ogling on his videos.

Reid is an automotive journalist as well and was selected via a public audition process run by the BBC last year. As for Jordan, he is a motorsport veteran and had raced for the Jordan Grand Prix Formula One team back in the 90s and into the early 2000s. The first new episodes of Top Gear will be aired on BBC Two on May 8.
