The new BMW M3 and M4 are nothing close to what you will call ‘dull’ as the brand’s M-division had prepped the models to be razor sharp. Both featuring twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight six engines, the 425-horsepower produced are not to be underestimated; but what if you are looking for more out of these Bavarian machines?
To answer that question, BMW’s M division boss Frank van Meel had just announced that the latest M3 and M4 will soon gain a bit more oomph as they will soon be offered with a new performance pack. Revealed at an interview with M’s official magazine, the Competition Package will be offered for the M3 Sedan, M4 Coupe and the M4 Cabriolet.
The twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine will receive upgrades to increase the 425-horsepower output, but we doubt that it will be impeding the 500-horsepower M4 GTS territory. BMW will also offer sharper driving dynamics from suspension upgrades and both aero and visual upgrades will definitely be in the list as well.
No further information has been revealed by Van Meel in the interview, but we can expect the Comeptition Package to make its debut in spring this year.
