It was just yesterday that we reported that Aston Martin is bringing the new and extreme Vulcan to be showcased at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. While the car was mostly covered under the shades, Aston Martin decided to shed some light today as they give the world a first look on their new track-only supercar.

Made in a very limited number of only 24 units, the official price tag was never revealed, but it may go with the saying ‘if you need to ask for it, you can’t afford it’. But in any case, it is the perfect competitor for cars like the LaFerrari FXXK and the McLaren P1 GTR.

The Vulcan is built around the carbon fiber tub of the One-77 with the same wheelbase of 2,791mm. Powering the car is their own naturally-aspirated 7.0-liter V12 engine mounted front-midship making more than 800-horsepower. All those horses are sent to the rear wheels via an Xtrac six-speed sequential shift gearbox. It also comes with an integral limited-slip differential and a magnesium torque tube with carbon fiber propeller shaft.

The track-derived pushrod suspension comes with anti-dive geometry, complemented by Multimatic’s Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve (DSSV) adjustable dampers and anti-roll bars front and rear, driver-adjustable anti-lock braking and variable traction control. A set of Brembo racing with carbon ceramic discs measuring 380mm at the front and 360mm at the rear provides the stopping power.

Since this is a special sports car, Aston Martin plan to offer Vulcan owners the opportunity to join a “detailed program of intensive track driver training” with professional racers lending a helping hand which includes Aston Martin Racing’s own Le Mans-winning Darren Turner.
