Unveiled earlier this year, the new 570S is a part of McLaren’s Sports Series line up which is targeted to pull in more customers to the growing brand. If the 570S is what you are looking for in a sports car, then the wait may not be that long as this new McLaren has already gone into production at their plant in Woking, England.
“The Sports Series is targeted towards a new buyer and opens up McLaren up to the sports car market that we have not served to date. The buyer of a Sports Series model will still experience the benchmark performance and driver engagement delivered by every McLaren model, but will also notice the increased usability and practicality that differentiates it from our existing cars,” said McLaren Sales and Marketing Executive Director Jolyon Nash.
Like the rest of the McLaren line up, the 570S features a MonoCell II chassis and a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that pushes out 570PS and 443 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a seven-speed Seamless Shift Gearbox, zerotohundred takes only 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 328km/h.
The 570S will soon be joined by the 540C which features a retuned suspension, new styling and a detuned engine with 540PS and 398 lb-ft of torque. It may be less powerful, but it still has an impressive zerotohundred time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 320km/h.
