Definitely one of the most anticipated cars in 2015, the new Alfa Romeo Giulia is like a dream come true for a lot of enthusiasts. Shedding its camouflage covers last June, the Giulia stunned the crowds at Frankfurt at its stunning looks and also its fast lap time around the ‘Ring, clocking a 7 minutes 39 seconds.
While this new performance sedan was supposed to be launched in Europe by the end of 2015, Alfa Romeo’s progress seemed to hit a bump on the road and reports from Autonews stated that the launch is pushed back a further six months, to the middle of 2016.
As for the brand’s first SUV which is based on the Giulia’s platform, it will not hit the market until early 2017, nine months later than what they planned earlier. FCA boss Sergio Marchionne said that they are re-examining the brand’s global expansion plan a few days ago due to the Chinese market’s slowdown, stating that the new models may come in a different order to satisfy customers in Europe and North America.
As a quick recap, the alfa Romeo Giulia gets a 2.9-liter V6 engine that produces 510-horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque with the help of turbocharging. Developed and built by Ferrari, the Giulia does a zerotohundred in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 307 km/h.
