Peugeot joining forces with Bimota in creating a special edition 300HP RCZ R!

Usually an automaker will pick an auto show, preferably those with massive media coverage, to unveil or showcase a special model they have to the world. Peugeot however, had taken the unusual route where at they will launch a special edition RCZ R at the Motor Bike Expo taking place at Verona, Italy.

However, there is a proper reason why Peugeot is launching this limited range-topping RCZ R at such venue because this special edition was developed with Italian superbike manufacturer Bimota. It is no surprise then that this model is called none other than the RCZ R Bimota.

Bearing the distinctive Bimota’s red, white and green colours, the company’s logo is also featured near to the rear wheel arches. The turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine has been tuned and equipped with a remapped ECU, a new exhaust system, and a new bypass valve for the turbocharger, giving the RCZ R Bimota a healthy 300-horsepower output.

The front brakes have also been upgraded to 380mm discs with four-piston calipers, while the suspension has been lowered by 10mm. Since Bimota is having a hand in the car, the rear seats have been removed to make way for a box that could fit two motorcycle helmets. The front seats are covered in Alcantara, as well as the steering and the dashboard. Two GoPro cameras mounted on the headlining and integrated in the front bumper come as standard.
