Designed to meet the FIA GT3 specifications, the GT3 version of the AMG GT sports a menacing carbon fiber wide body kit that includes modified bumpers, ventilated front fenders, revised side skirts and a new set of doors. it also gets a ventilated hood, given carbon fiber flics, a rear diffuser and a massive rear wing to give more downforce.

The interior has been given the race car treatment where the driver seats in a carbon fiber racing seat and kept safe by a steel roll cage. The AMG GT3 gets a new steering wheel, race-specific switchgear, some carbon fiber trim, and a digital instrument cluster.

Since this is the race version of the road-going AMG GT, we initially thought that Mercedes was going to retain the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine in the race car’s engine bay. Apparently that is not the case as they are going to stuff the AMG GT3 with the earth-shattering naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine found on the SLS AMG GT3, sending all its power to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential transmission.
