The Lotus Elise variant is basically a go-kart dressed as a car and is among the best cars that one could bring to the track for some proper fun. Although the car does not pack a massive engine underneath, the low slung and lightweight body makes it a fun and nimble machine to drive. But if the current Lotus line up does not excite you, worry not as they had recently unveiled their most extreme creation for the streets called the Elise S Cup.
What Lotus did was basically take the Elise S Cup R race car and street-legal-ized it into the Elise S Cup. Powering the car is a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine which is also supercharged to push out 217-horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, the Elise S Cup does a zerotohundred in only 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 225km/h.
Aerodynamic tweaks are also a part of the package where it gets a front splitter, winglets and bargeboards. A fixed roof also comes with the car, as well as a rear wing and a massive rear diffuser. Lotus says that such modifications increased the car’s downforce by 66kg at 161km/h and 125kg at 225km/h.
