If there is any name that we would like to see appearing on a McLaren race car, it would definitely be someone in the Senna family. That was exactly what McLaren had decided as they got hold of Bruno Senna to join their racing department and gave him a seat in the new 650S GT3 and 650S Sprint models.
The ex-Formula 1 driver will be joining the McLaren GT factory driver program where he will be heavily involved in the ongoing development of the 650S GT3 and the 650S Sprint. From time to time, he will also be racing the 650S GT3 in selected events.
“It’s a great honour for me to be joining McLaren; a team my uncle enjoyed such huge success with, and one of the most famous names in motorsport. 2015 is a big year for the whole of McLaren, and it is an exciting time to be part of everything that is taking place,” said Senna.
The 31-year old driver has tonnes of single seat racing experience which includes three years in Formula 1 with HRT, Renault and Williams. While he was not really in the top rankings in Formula 1, he enjoyed a more successful racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Aston Martin Racing, grabbing 3 poles and 2 wins in 9 starts.
