RenaultSport gives a sneak peek on their new R.S.01 racecar!

A way back, Renault had teased us about their new and upcoming RenaultSport Trophy racer that is said to be powered by a Nismo engine outputting about +500-horsepower. While talks about this machine had slowed down in recent months, this upcoming racecar has appeared in the radar once again as Renault had released a couple of teaser photos of the car.

Also announcing the launch date, the R.S.01 will make its public debut at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show on August 27. This new racecar will be competing in the World Series by Renault championship taking place in 2015.

Details of this new racecar as for the time being are pretty scarce. Aside from being powered by a Nismo engine as mentioned earlier, it will be mated to a seven-speed sequential gearbox from Sadev, featuring a carbon monocoque and fitted with a specific tire developed by Michelin. The car is said to weigh around 1,100kg.

The 2015 World Series by Renault will start next April and will feature nine rounds of intense racing.
