We have seen the video where Renault had teased their upcoming Megane. Although we expected the car to be unveiled in the next couple of months, we did not expect for them to have it ready in a flash. Nevertheless, Renault’s new front-wheeled chariot is ready, and they promised that their new Megane RS 275 Trophy will lap the Nurburgring Nordschliefe in less than eight minutes.
Like the name suggests, the Megane RS 275 Trophy packs a 275PS (271-horsepower) from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and sits on a Cup chassis with limited slip differential. This new model also features new performance parts that include a titanium exhaust system from Akrapovic, Ohlins dampers and Michelin tires.
The Megane RS 275 Trophy can be fitted with Ohlins’ Road & Track dampers with steel springs and the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires developed specifically for the car. Also in the optional list is the 19-inch black Speedline Turini wheels from those used by competition versions of the Megane.
Exterior wise, the RS 275 Trophy features a new livery with the Trophy branding on the front blade, Trophy decals on the body sides and a chequered flag graphic below the doors. The cabin comes with leather and Alcantara Recaro bucket seats with contrasting red stitching and Renault Sport badging on the headrests.
The Megane RS 275 Trophy will be sold to countries like Australia, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Germany and South Africa. They will start taking orders in France on June 3 and be priced at USD 52,120 (RM 168,556).
