Renault Malaysia is currently having a roadshow at East Atrium, Mid Valley Megamall. The cars they are currently putting on display are the Koleos, Fluence and Clio RS.
The star of the roadshow, no doubt is the Clio RS. The Clio RS, in simple terms, is the little brother to the Megane RS, a thoroughbred. This Clio RS is powered by a 1.6L turbocharged engine which produces 200 hp. The only transmission that the Clio RS offers is a 6 speed dual clutch automatic. Sorry manual purists. Zerotohundred is achieved in 6.7 seconds, while top speed is 230 km/h. A true hot hatch, this Clio RS is.
Hot hatch aside, Renault also has the Fluence on display. The Fluence may have a French name, but the running gear is pretty much lifted off the previous generation Nissan Sylphy. Pairing the MR20DE 2.0L engine with the Xtronic CVT is a proven combination. Despite sharing the same engine, the MR20DE in the Fluence has different power and torque rating from the Sylphy, with 131 hp and 191 NM of torque.
The third car shown here is the Renault Koleos. Being related to the Nissan X-Trail, it is no surprise that the Koleos also features a Nissan power-train under the bonnet. Powering the Koleos is the Nissan TR25, a 2.5L engine which produces 170 hp and 226 NM of torque. The current Koleos has been facelifted, and is now strictly front wheel drive only. Like the Fluence, the Koleos also uses a CVT.
The hot hatch Clio RS retails for RM 172,888. The C segment Fluence, on the other hand, retails for a slightly more affordable RM118,297. The priciest of the lot is actually the Koleos, at RM185,888. All prices here are inclusive of insurance.
