Spicing up one of their hot hatches into a dust-kicking guise, the Renault Clio R3T variant has been made available to interested customers. This rally-ready variant has been armed to the teeth to undertake the harsh and punishing conditions of rallying with not only a new power plant, but also some other upgrades as well.

Instead of using a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated engine found in the Clio R3, the R3T uses a developed 1.6-liter turbocharged engine from the road car. It now produces 240-horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque and all of the power is sent to the front axle via a six-speed sequential gearbox.

But one of the points highlighted by Renault is that the R3T has a longer-than-usual service interval, where it only needs to be checked on every 4,000 stage kilometres. Renault has already sold 380 units of the R3 model, so the turbocharged variant should not have a problem in finding amateur rally drivers who are looking for a powerful, turbocharged rallying machine.
