Germany’s AutoMotorundSport got the chance to speak with Porsche’s CEO, Matthias Muller, and he explained that Porsche is not looking for a range extender powertrain and that their goal is to come out with a pure, all-electric sports car with the ability to travel at least 300km, but they would prefer it better if it could go beyond 400km in a single charge.

The space where the engine used to be is now being used to store a 29 kWh lithium-ion-phosphate battery that offers a driving range of around 107km. This AWD Boxster E is able to do a zerotohundred in 5.5 seconds and has a limited top speed of 200km/h.
