The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California is usually where all the exotic marquees show up and bring their best creations to put under the spotlight. And for the 2014 edition of this concourse, McLaren is bringing not one but two cars to put on display, and both of them are the latest machines to have represented this British supercar manufacturer.

Both the 650S and P1 are being customized by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), offering a full customization service for McLaren owners. The MSO was actually launched officially at Pebble Beach three years ago.

Commissioned by a North American client, the special P1 hypercar hosts a range of options and will be displayed publicly for the first time at the concourse. It features aluminium and McLaren’s iconic orange trim throughout the car and the bodywork is finished in an exclusive shade of grey, also with the addition of some orange accents.

The customization does not end there are the rear is enhanced with 24-karat gold heatshields around the engine bay and Inconel alloy exhaust. As a little recap, gold was also used in the legendary F1 due to its reflective and heat resistance quality.

The 650S on the other hand has been designed in collaboration with McLaren Newport Beach and McLaren Automotive’s design director Frank Stephenson. One of just 50 examples with unique styling upgrades, the exterior has been finished in a bright shade of blue which includes a heavy metallic flake and offers a deep gloss shine. The cabin is upholstered with carbon black leather with a contrasting blue stitch throughout, extending on to the steering wheel, dash and doors.

But these two will not be the only highlights for McLaren as they will also be unveiling the highly anticipated P1 GTR design concept at Pebble Beach.
