Good Riddance To This Chinese BMW X5 Clone! [+Video]

The Shuanghuan CEO, a shameless rip-off of the BMW E53 X5 managed to find its way to Germany, which (ironically is the home of BMW) while BMW was busy filing a court case against Shanhuan for the CEO being a clone of the X5. Despite being banned in several European countries, the Shuanghuan CEO managed to seek refuge in several owners, and amongst them was German auto-journalist Wolfgang Blaube.

Introduced to the Germans back in 2008, the Shuanghuan CEO is powered an old Mitsubishi derived 2.4L engine which produces a measly 123 Chinese horses. Despite looking uncannily like the X5, the Shuanghuan CEO is actually based on an even older Mitsubishi Pajero (not sure if endorsed). Despite the relatively proven Japanese running gear and hardware, Shuanghuan has actually managed to make the car even worse than the Pajero.

The first glaring problem with this particular car is rust. Lots of rust. Rust in the engine bay, rust at the brakes, rust in the undercarriage. You would think that the car has raked up at least 500,000 km of mileage, but in actual fact, the CEO has only 100,000+ km on the odometer. Rust aside, its shocking to know that even the ABS has failed on the CEO.

Watch the video below of Wolfgang Blaube destroying the CEO, much to our amusement.

Discovered the automotive scene by chance. Hooked on ever since. Can be found quite often in Sepang, just snapping photos and observing people.
