Owning a Ferrari is a dream for most guys. Aside from being a mark of one’s success, it is also a way to own a slice of the Formula 1 technology and having them parked at their driveway. Ferrari has gone to great lengths to satisfy their clients and the latest move made by the Maranello supercar maker for such is to offer owners extended powertrain warranty coverage for up to 12 years.
Implemented under the “New Power Warranty” scheme, Ferrari will start offering powertrain coverage for their new cars beginning May 1 2014. This warranty will act as a third stage of coverage, after the original manufacturer warranty which covers up to three years, and an available extension that covers up to four and five years. This 12-year New Power Warranty could also be added to existing cars’ coverage, after being put through a technical inspection.
This move is Ferrari’s latest attempt in improving and increasing after-sales service available to their clients. Back in 2011, Ferrari launched the Ferrari Genuine Maintenance which offers owners a free 7-year scheduled maintenance program to help owners to properly maintain their cars and increasing resale value.
