Although the Toyota GT86 is adored for its FR layout and nimble handling, complaints about the lack of power from the 2.0-liter boxer engine are inevitable. Offering a solution to this matter, Cosworth had just introduced a new “Stage 1” power package to pack this lively pup with a couple of fangs, which is also a part of the company’s new product line.

A world-renowned supplier of performance engines and parts for engines, Cosworth is now turning their tactics around to sell these “Power Packages” that one could basically bolt right onto their car. And starting off their new venture is this first example pack designed specifically to work with the FA20 engine found in the Toyota GT86, Subaru BRZ and the Scion FR-S.

The Cosworth Stage 1 Power Package comes with a calibration kit and sports exhaust system, fitted with a “performance filtration solution and low temperature thermostat”, boosting up the 2.0-liter engine’s output to 230-horsepower.

If that is not enough to tickle your taste buds, Cosworth is working on two further tuning packages, with the Stage 2 offering increased performance to 325bhp and Stage 3 with a “race track configuration” of 380bhp.
