Today the Malaysian market welcomes another player in the C-segment market as Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors launches the all-new Hyundai i30 to our shores. The i30 is the brand’s best selling model in Europe, and has sold over 1.5 million units worldwide achieving a milestone for Hyundai. Confident of the product – Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors is now ready go head-to-head in the C-segment market here in Malaysia.
The i30 is offered in two variants here in Malaysia – both fitted with Hyundai’s NU 1.8-litre MPI 4-cylinder engine that Hyundai claims to produce 140ps and 178nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and will do the Zerotohundred sprint in just 9.5 seconds; decently brisk figure for a little hatch. The i30 can be chosen in two different trims, Executive (RM 127,888) and Sport (RM 132,888) which presents significant features to cater for the different needs of the market.
The i30 is designed with strong, fluid lines, sculpted to give an athletic stature on the exterior which we think can easily attract the attention of the market. At the same time, it comes with a modern and advanced cockpit space that is matched with a rather spacious interior. “The new generation i30’s superior interior quality and refinement as well as its remarkable drivability are the traits that make it popular in European countries” – said Mr Lau Yit Mun, Managing Director of Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors.
Smart features of the new i30 includes a panoramic sunroof that can be fully opened or tilted offering passengers flexibility and functionality, a large TFT Supervision cluster that provides a wide range of essential information to the driver in high resolution clarity, parking assist system, a smart key, a rain sensor and a host of other impressive features that are just a button away.
With the Smart Welcome System – the i30 ‘welcomes’ you as you walk towards it with the key in your hands or pocket. Upon detection of the smart key, the Auto-Folding Outside Mirrors unfold, puddle lamps from the side mirrors activate and the door handles illuminate to give passengers better lighting especially at night and in the dark.
HSDM offers a 5-year or 300,000km (T&C applies) extended warranty on the all-new Hyundai i30 and all its new passenger vehicles. Hyundai’s extended warranty is in accordance with its manufacturing warranty.
