Introducing the latest addition to the 4 Series family, BMW Group Malaysia had recently launched the all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe which marks the first-ever BMW compact executive sedan coupe to feature four doors with the balance of functionality and coupe sophistication.
“This BMW is for the customer who wants to stand out and be taken notice of in the segment as the car offers the best exterior and interior design cues, the best in class in terms of efficiency and the best in term of sportiness,” said Dr. Gerhard Pils, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia.
Being the first-ever, the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe has a 112mm longer roofline than the 4 Series Coupe, allowing it to have more headroom on all seats, especially in providing more comfort to the rear passengers. It now also features a more spacious luggage compartment with a total capacity of 480 liters, 35 liters larger than the two-door coupe.
Aerodynamics had also being put into account where the Gran Coupe’s design comprises of Air Breathers behind the front wheel arches and Air Curtains on the far right and left of the car’s front. With the M Sport package, the Gran Coupe also boasts a greater road presence where at the same time adds a touch of dynamism.
Powering the 428i Gran Coupe is BMW’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine pushing out 245-horsepower and a peak torque of 350Nm. Mated to an eight-speed Stetronic transmission, zerotohundred takes only 6.1 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 250km/h. Also making a debut is a new feature that provides anticipatory gearshift strategy for sport and comfort mode. Data from the navigation system is supplied to the transmission control unit to enable adjustments of the gearshift strategy to better match the road layout ahead for either a fast, sport response (Sport Mode) or a comfort-focused shift program with fewer gearshifts (Comfort Mode).
The BMW 428i Gran Coupe is offered in Alpine White, Melbourne Red, Glacier Silver, Mineral Grey and Jatoba Metallic, while the Carbon Black and Estoril Blue are exclusive colors available for the M Sport variant. Estimated retail prices (OTR, without insurance, with BMW Service + Repair Inclusive) are RM 389,800 for the 428i Gran Coupe and RM 418,800 with the M Sport package.
